22 Years After, Buhari Hands Over The House Promised To Bonfre Joe- Atlanta 96 Gold Medalists Coach

As much as we might not know everything, failing to fulfill any promise is against the law of nature as well as the law of common sense and equity.

This is perhaps one of the reasons, Nigeria and by extension Africa, is not getting things right simply because we dont know how to respect basic things of life like rights of people, human rights, honouring our words, vows, oaths and promises including marriage vows.

Nigeria won Olympic gold medal in 1996 in what was coded (MBA) by the way we defeated Mexico in quarter final, decimated Brazil in semi final and swallowed Argentina in finals. We were mentioned then as the first AFrican Nation to win the Gold in footbal in any Olympic Tournament ever. This feat was repeated by Cameroun 4 years after when they also won gold in foootball- Sydney 2000.

Unfortunately, the promise made then by the leadership of the nation and football managers of then was not fulfiled. The succive governments also did not deem it fit from Abubakar to Obasanjo and to Yar’ adua and even the young and learned Jonathan.

The story is that 22 yrs later,Buhari, through the minister of Power, Works and Housing has fulfilled the promise by handing the key of allocated house to BONFRERE-JO who was the Coach then.
